How to Support a Healthy, Daily Bowel Movement

  1. Drink 2L filtered water each day (room temperature)

  2. Start your morning (upon rising) with one glass of warm water and juice of half a lemon, drink through a straw. Follow with one glass of warm water. Wait 30 minutes before any food or caffeine.

  3. Make time each morning to sit on the toilet without interruptions and ‘be’. Correct position is legs on a small stool with knees slightly higher than the hips and breathe. A healthy bowel movement is one that is not dependent on caffeine.

  4. Eat fruit on an empty tummy for optimal digestion of these precious nutrients. Wait 20 to 30 minutes before other food.

  5. Add fibre like psyllium husk and freshly ground flaxseed/linseed to your cereal, yoghurt or smoothie; ensure to soak first to allow them to become gelatinous.
